Hi, im Melinda👋 I am the founder and professional organizer behind Island Organize. I am a member of the Professional Organizers in Canada. I am a mom to two young autistic children and have always had a passion for organizing. I graduated college in 2007 with a Creative Photography diploma. Owning a flourishing commercial photography business at the age of 21 gave me valuable experience which I use every day in my organizing career. I have decluttered, organized, and staged homes for professional photography shoots such as the Canadian Tire Christmas catalogue, Zellers, and Sears catalogue. I also have firsthand experience in film studio and prop room organization. In 2014 I decided to make a minimalist life change and downsized to living in a 19ft camper van. Every inch of storage counted and the decluttering mindset really sunk in. A few years later I downsized to living out of a 40L backpack while travelling the world on my own for two years. Upon return to Canada, I became a mom and with that comes the accumulation of stuff and the need for organizational systems to be put in place. For as long as I can remember I have always put systems into place to keep my household functioning properly, and I would love to have an opportunity to share this passion of mine with you.
